Introduction and Announcements

This is just what I do.  I could still be wrong.  -  by Terry Walters

In investing I can’t tell you what to do, but I can tell you what I do.   Selling monthly covered calls seems boring, but the returns have been terrific.  Rolling that short call each month gets trick though; I don’t want to roll for a debit.  Then once I make some money I have to do my best to keep from paying more than necessary in taxes.  We will dig into these details beyond last year’s presentation.

SPY/SPX Rolling Put Strategy Optimized using detailed back-testing  -  by Craig Sander

A detailed strategy for selling and rolling out-of-the-money SPY or SPX puts for income will be described.  An example of the use of automated back-testing, using excel will be presented.  This back-testing can provide insight into the best time to roll-up for maximum profit or roll out and down after a significant drop in the underlying.  Though past results cannot provide an exact picture of the future, back-testing can be very useful for optimizing a strategy, while providing realistic expectations of possible risk and reward.
