“How Did We Get Here?” The History of Central Bank Policy

The Federal Reserve is more active than ever and their impact on the financial markets has never been greater. Learn how we arrived at this point, evolving from the free banking era to our present system of monetization. Also, learn how policies like negative interest rate policy and quantitative easing is creating historic opportunities in gold and unlocking the potential of Bitcoin. 


Learn the history of the Federal Reserve, explore their toolbox and the huge  potential of inflationary assets like gold and Bitcoin .  There are many critics FED and whether they should or should exist, attend this SVOG Zoom event and explore the rich history, compare it to what is going on today.


A close election; potential economic policy changes; world wide pandemic; global pressures on international trade – all add up to a challenging 2021 stock market.  Don’t get caught on the wrong side of a future trade because you don’t understand the role of Central Bank Policy.  Economics and monetary policies will be key elements in the 2021 market.

About Our Speaker

Brandon Chapman, CMT, has over 23 years in the financial industry and over 15 years teaching self-directed investors. He is currently a contributor for and He is also a subject matter expert for the CMT Association.


Prior to Joining TheoTrade, Brandon spent 13 years as a coach and instructor for TD Ameritrade’s education division. During his tenure, he helped write courses in option strategies, technical analysis, Forex, fundamental analysis and portfolio management. He was also a co-host for TD Ameritrade’s Morning Huddle broadcast for several years. During his tenure with TD Ameritrade and Thinkorswim Group, he authored serval articles for, thinkMoney Magazine and The Ticker Tape Monthly.


Brandon earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Brigham Young University where he majored in Economics. He received his Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designation in 2007.


At Theotrade, he teaches daily classes on Options, Technical Analysis, Inter-market Analysis, Fundamental Analysis and Top Down Analysis.
